Interview With Raj Dash – Writer, ProBlogger, Freelancer

Posted September 15, 2007 in Inspiration, Writing

Raj DashOne of the things I particularly enjoy about working online and freelancing is you get to meet so many nice people. In fact, I met Raj through blogging some time ago, and I interviewed him this week.

You can find more about Raj over at his personal blog RajDash.com, where he writes about productivity, blogging, writing, internet and a lot more. You certainly have seen his name on some really popular blogs, and I have a feeling you will see his name everywhere soon. Enjoy the interview! :)

Jon: Hey Raj, thank you very much for accepting the invitation. Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Where you’re from, where we can find you, how long you’ve been freelancing/blogging?

Raj: I’m a small-town Canadian who would rather live in Toronto, Montreal, Atlanta, San Jose or maybe somewhere in Spain. I’ll be moving back to Toronto soon. I’ve been blogging since Mar 2002, with a bit of a hiatus inbetween. I started blogging when getting heavily into writing short stories and novellas, and composing electronic(a) music with aspirations of being a soundtrack composer. As for freelancing, I’ve been a computer consultant/ contractor for most of 1987-2001, with a few periods as an employee. But I’m a freelancer at heart, and a blogger for hire since Jan 2006.

Posted September 14, 2007 in Productivity

Hello folks, today we have a article by Chad from MarketingCT. Chad says he’s an addicted entrepreneur, I believe him! :) – Jon

    A List of Do-Not’s:

Do not be a specialist, do not be a generalist, do not be an everything-in-the-whole-world-needs-to-be-done-this-way-ist. Just be the entrepreneur that everyone flocks to, the leader that people want to follow, and then let everyone who does something good, do that thing good.

    Sounds like common sense right?

Boy, is that wrong! [Click Here to Read More...]

Ideas And Tools For A Paperless Office

Posted September 12, 2007 in Uncategorized

Is it possible to freelance, run a business, be productive, and not use paper at all? Or at least reduce your paper consumption to a minimum? I think it’s possible, but it won’t happen just like that, you have to be organized and actually want to have a paperless office (some people don’t).

    The Paperless Office Concept

The paperless office is now considered to be a philosophy to work with minimal paper and convert all forms of documentation to a digital form. The ideal is driven by a number of motivators including productivity gains, costs savings, space saving, the need to share information etc. – Wikipedia

There are many things you can do to reduce your paper consumption, and there are hundreds of tools that can help you achieve that. [Click Here to Read More...]

Are You Networking On Purpose, Or At Random?

Posted September 10, 2007 in Uncategorized

    Networking on purpose

The formula is simple: Hook up with the right people, and get leads/recommendations/etc. that turn into paying customers again and again. But finding the right people ain’t always easy, and it doesn’t happen by random accident enough to pay the bills (or thrive). You’ve got to do it on purpose.

If you want your business to grow at a solid, sustainable pace, you’ve got to be sure that the people you network with add the most power and value to your personal network. Here’s how …
