2008-04-26 – Links Folder – Sweetest Links From Around The Web
Posted April 26, 2008 in Uncategorized 5 Comments »
Hey folks, I hope you had a great week, it’s time for another ‘links folder‘ post. I’ve read many excellent articles in the last weeks, and thought I’d share them with you. Been a while heh? :)
This time I broke things down in categories, here we go:
Design and Development
- Uber cool Collis Ta’eed recently launched a new blog called NetTuts, you’ll see the new blog has the same format and similar design as PSDTuts. There isn’t a lot of content yet, but the posts so far are killer! My fave: Build a Sleek Portfolio Site from Scratch
- Jacob from SixRevisions gives us “7 Incredibly Useful Tools for Evaluating a Web Design“. Great post outlining some very useful tools for analyzing a web design.
- Anthony wrote a great piece, comparing web and publication design.
- “A Comparative Study of Logo Design between the 70s and 90s” is a very nice article written by Jacob of Just Creative Design. It’s actually an essay he wrote for a University class about a year ago.
- Sean Hodge wrote a post (and a very good one) for Smashing Magazine titled “5 Principles And Ideas Of Setting Type On The Web“
Writing and Blogging
- Freelancer and writer extraordinaire Skellie gave us “How to Get Piles of Links, Subscribers and Comments“
- James (Men With Pens) wrote Four Ways to Target Online Buyers With the Right Words for CopyBlogger. Good stuff! :)
- Colin shares some really good tips in “The Freelance Writer at Home“
- Mary Jaksch of GoodLifeZen shares 15 awesome tips on generating ideas and writing with ease (on WriteToDone).
Business, Web-Working and Freelancing
- Our very own Dave Navarro recently moved his blog over to a new domain name, Rock Your Day (it really does rock!), here’s How To Smash Your Insecurities And Take Massive Action.
- Dave also wrote a great piece on the Small Fuel Marketing blog titled 10 Clever Ways To Wow Your Clients.
- Gino of You The Designer lists 10 Great Places to Find Graphic Design Jobs. There are some in there I didn’t know about.
- Here’s 4 Simple Rules for Freelance Success from FreelanceSprout. This blog is fairly new, but already there’s a lot of great posts. Worth keeping an eye on. :)
That’s it for this week folks! Have a great week-end!
Jon
