3 Killer Ebooks For Your Reading Pleasure
Posted January 24, 2008 in Uncategorized 7 Rockin' Comments »
I’m pretty sure I’ve read more ebooks than ‘real‘ paperback books in my life (not that ebooks are not ‘real‘ books, I find it’s just more convenient and it helps save trees!) This week I read 3 great ebooks and I’d like to share them with you. Here we go:
#1- A Profitable Freelancing Business for Under $50?
My good friend Christine O’Kelly, who runs Self Made Chick wrote her very first ebook (in 4 days!) titled: How I Built A Profitable Freelance Business for Under $50 (And How You Can Too!).
In her last blog post Christine says she went from being ‘freakin’ broke‘ to making as much as $8,000 per month, not bad! Not bad at all!
After only 2-3 pages I was hooked and had to finish reading it. It’s only 24 pages so it was an easy read, but seriously, these pages are filled with kick-ass tips & tricks and advices, definitely worth the $12 Christine is asking.
Here’s a quick excerpt from the ebook. If you’re a blogger (or a designer, photographer, etc… who blogs) I’m sure you’ll relate to this:
Within just a few weeks of having my blog online, I was receiving leads for work at a faster rate than ever before.
I can totally relate to that. :)
Good job Christine!
#2- How to Develop Money-Making Niche Sites With WordPress
I love WordPress, I just can’t think of starting a blog on another platform (sorry Text Pattern, sorry Movable Type).
Not so long ago Caroline Middlebrooke wrote a very good (and very informative) ebook: How to Develop Money-Making Niche Sites with WordPress. This ebook covers everything from installing WordPress, plugins and setting up adsense to choosing a theme and setting up WordPress to have a static page as the frontpage.
I really enjoyed reading Caroline’s ebook, though I’ve been working with WordPress for a while I did learn a couple things. I’d highly recommend it to beginners and intermediate users of WordPress. It’s 41 pages, it’s free and it’s definitely worth reading if you’re getting started and are looking to monetize a blog.
Looking forward to the next ebook Caroline, keep us posted! :)
#3- How to Start a Business Blog
Last but not least, Michael Martine (Remarkablogger) wrote ‘How To Start A Business Blog‘. This ebook is also free, you just have to subscribe to his RSS Feed and you’ll get the ebook at the next update.
This ebook covers pretty much everything you need to know about running a business blog, from setting up to developing a crisis management plan.
I honestly never thought about having a ‘crisis management plan‘, but Michael explains this very well. A business blog is not a ‘check-out-these-pics-of-my-cat‘ blog, it’s a place where customers and potential clients can go to find out what’s going on with a company, this is where you connect with your customers. Having a crisis management plan is something I will definitely suggest to future and existing clients. Now if you’re a client of mine, go download the ebook, it’s free!
Keep it up Michael, good job!
Have Fun! :)
I really hope you will enjoy reading these ebooks as much as I did. I know some of you don’t have a blog (even though it’s a great way to keep in touch with your clients and get more work), but give these a try, maybe you’ll wanna start a blog after :)
Cheers,
Jon
