Calling All Freelancers On Twitter

Posted November 5, 2009 in News 26 Comments »

Have you ever wondered how many freelancers in your specialty are on twitter? Well, Freelance Folder is going to help you find out.

As most you already know, Twitter recently launched a new feature called Twitter Lists. Here at Freelance Folder, we’ve been hard at work compiling lists of freelancers on Twitter so that our readers can benefit by following freelancers in a particular field.

We recently finished compiling a list of freelance designers (web design, graphic design, typography, etc.). Next, we will be creating a list of freelance writers and so on and so forth.

If you are interested and want to be included, click the read more link for all of the details.

How to Get Included on a Freelance Folder List

If you would like to be included on one of our lists please send a message to @freelancefolder on Twitter. Your message should read like the one below:

@FreelanceFolder I am a freelance (example : designer) #freelancefolder.

Please make sure that you tag your tweet #freelancefolder so that it is easy for us to find these tweets.

We had a huge response when we tweeted this request earlier this week. We’ve already created the Designer Twitter list and we would love to include every freelancer on Twitter in a list related to their specialty.

How to Check If You Are on the Right List

Once a particular Twitter list is complete you can check to see whether or not you are listed on it.

To check whether you are listed on one of our lists, sign on to your Twitter account and click the link that says “listed” right next to your follower and following count.

How to check if you are listed on a Twitter List

If you don’t see yourself listed in a particular Freelance Folder list, send us a tweet with the hashtag #freelancefolder. We will make sure that you are included.

I have included an example of what the designer list looks like below. If you are a designer and you have already sent us a tweet, check to see whether or not you are listed.

Check to see if you are included on a Twitter List

Also, if you’re a designer why not follow FreelanceFolder’s Twitter list of designers?

If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.

Note: If you want to share your Twitter ID along with what you do in the comments section, feel free to do so. The reason that we are asking you to tweet the information is because the chances are higher that other freelancers will see the tweets and respond.

I hate this kind of tweet – I don’t like commercializing my tweets at all. I still did it though, because the list is actually full of some good designers and I want on it. Just wish you asked for emails or dm’s or something else.
