Envato Launches TUTS+ and Combines All Tutorial Sites

Posted February 18, 2009 in News

PSDTUTS+ Photoshop Tutorials and MoreMost of you are probably familiar with Collis Ta’eed and Envato, but for those of you who aren’t, they are the masterminds behind many of the web’s best freelance sites — such as FreelanceSwitch, PSDtuts, VectorTuts, and many others.

Well, as of yesterday they have made a very big move — they’ve taken all of their individual tutorial sites (5 of them) and combined them under a single domain, TutsPlus.com.

The new, unified domain has the content from all of their sites under one convenient interface. What’s more, they have unified the “Plus” subscription so that instead of paying $7 for each site you can now pay $9 and have access to all of the Plus content on any of their sites.

What does this mean for you?

This means that there is now more learning content in one single domain than just about anywhere else on the web. Whether you’re interested in vectors, the web, video, audio, or just about any other creative field, there will be something useful to you on the Tuts+ site.

Sharpening your freelance skill-set is one of the best ways to ensure your success, and this site is one of the best ways to learn.

What’s with the subscription fee?

While you can access a huge amount of content on the site without paying a dime, some of the best tutorials (and all of the PSD/AI/Other source files) are kept for Plus members only. That might seem disappointing at first, until you realize that the number of quality tutorials they offer wouldn’t be possible otherwise. And that the $9 subscription fee is paltry considering the amount of valuable content they have to offer (and now, access to all 3 sites!).

Another thing to mention is that as of the rest of their plus sites cone online you will get acces to those too, I think there is 2 or 3 more coming in the near future. If you pay quartly it is only $22 or $88 dolars a year for at least 150+ tutorials a year that will help your business. Adding one more service that you can learn from there will pay for itself after the first client.

This is a great idea from the Envato team. They now have a great plus program with brilliant branding.

Not to mention they have a 100% money back guarantee if you aren’t satisfied then you can get your money back. Not that I see them needing this feature a lot the content is great.
