May 31st, 2010 at 2:12 pmI didn’t fully appreciate Memorial Day until I lived overseas in Europe for a couple years. I was driving through Southern Belgium (in the Arden Forest region) on Memorial Day, and came across a cemetery of WWII fallen soldiers. There were hundreds of cars parked alongside the side of the road, as local residents paid their respects to the American servicemen that died liberating Belgium during WWII.
