MediaLoot is Halting Sales of Unlimited Subscriptions on March 1st

Posted January 25, 2011 in News

Our sister-site MediaLoot has just announced that they are halting sales of unlimited-download subscriptions on March 1st. Existing members can keep their subscriptions for life, but if you’re a new member you will have to sign up soon to get unlimited downloads.

For those of you who don’t know about MediaLoot, it is a subscription-based resource site for graphic and web designers. Members can download an unlimited number of icons, textures, website designs, and more for $19 per month — less than $1 per resource if you use the service regularly.

Aaa… here’s the catch – it’s a monthly subscription : ) 140 bucks a year – no, thanks, I’ll stick to fotolia : ) or maybe I’ll buy the subscription after my short holiday which ends on Monday – then I’ll download everrrrything… hehe

They must be doing some serious numbers for them to halt on subscriptions

@Sponsi — It is definitely a subscription, though I wouldn’t call it a catch. For designers who use these types of resources regularly it makes a lot of sense financially, a few icon sets on fotolia will easily equal the cost of a subscription =D

@Impulse Magazine — They won’t be halting all subscriptions, just the ones that offer unlimited downloads. There will be a trio of new subscriptions announced in March.

    Thanks for comments guys!
