New Logo By LogoDesignWorks And New Design
Recently my friend Raj (RajDash.com) sent me an e-mail to let me know LogoDesignWorks were having a promo for “popular” bloggers (not sure if I’m really popular though :) ). So I thought “Hey why not?
You can find details about the promo by checking out their design blog, or visit the logo design promo page
As you can see on the new design, the new logo is right there at the top (if you’re reading through RSS, please come and visit), I think it looks pretty good.
The folks at LogoDesignWork did an awesome job! And communication was excellent (very very important!). They sent me some sketches, and after a couple of messages back and forth (it was really nice to see the logo evolve with each revision) I chose the final logo. Check out Logo Design Works and visit their design blog (and their business tips blog too!), it’s worth it!
Regarding that new design, I have to say it’s a “work in progress“, I like how it looks right now, and it’s fine in all browsers I tested (Safari, Opera, Firefox, IE6, IE7), not sure about IE6 though, well anyway, I’m happy (a happy freelancer!).
I used the new Revolution Theme that Brian Gardner released not so long ago. Although this theme would be more appropriate for a “magazine-style” blog, I customized it a lot, so you have the same “blog feel“.
I also used some of the code from the Networker theme from Anthony Baggett (the theme I used to design the previous version of FreelanceFolder), so you could say this theme is a mix of Revolution and Networker (humm.. networking revolution)
But I have some plans on using the page features that are already included in that theme (which would make it look more like a magazine than a blog right out of the box), will keep working on that! ;)
So, that’s about it! Take care, and thanks so much folks for all your support! We have a contest coming soon, stay tuned!
Jon

Hi Anthony, thanx a lot! I used a lot of things from Networker (like the comment section, looks the same as on the previous version) and some other stuff. I’m happy you like it :)

Hi Jon, thanks for the link nod. Your pages are looking really sharp. The black nav bar works really well with the logo.

I find some of your sidebar stuff to be difficult to read, but otherwise the site looks great. Love the new logo.
