One area that is particularly tricky in is social networking - whether myspace, facebook, twitter, etc. employ the best design standards, technology foundations or even the best overall user experience, their popularity alone make them better *because* they are popular.

No matter how many bells and whistles a similar product might have, it&#039;s users&#039; ultimate experience is dependent on other users&#039; adoption.

Perhaps OpenSocial will change that though?</description>
