Review: Earn A Living or Boost Your Income Through Staff Blogging

Posted May 28, 2009 in News 6 Comments »

Making money by blogging has become such an overcrowded topic that it’s frequently written off as being spammy and unreliable. Between the thousands of ad networks, affiliate programs, traffic generation programs, and everything else, very few people are actually making a living with this stuff.

Well you can forget about all of that. There’s another way to make money blogging that is both reliable and profitable — it’s called staff blogging.

Staff blogging is a type of freelance writing where you’re paid on a monthly or per-article basis to write for a larger blog. Pay is often stable, and in just a few hours per week you can create a nice income for yourself. If you devote more time, you can quickly earn a full-time living working from home (or whichever vacation spot you prefer).

If you’re interested in learning more about staff blogging, you’re in luck.

Several-time FreelanceFolder contributor Ali Hale has put together an awesome Staff Blogging Course that explains the entire subject from starting your business, to finding clients, to getting a paycheck.

As a person who hires a ton of staff bloggers, I can honestly say that Ali has outdone herself with this course. It is an excellent resource that explains in detail every step necessary to start earning money as a staff blogger.

Read on for the full review, or click here to go to the product landing page.

More About Ali’s Staff Blogging Course

Ali has broken the course into six individual units. Each section covers a specific aspect of creating an income as a staff blogger. The units are:

  • Unit One: Basics of Staff Blogging
  • Unit Two: Finding Your First Job
  • Unit Three: Applying for a Blogging Job
  • Unit Four: Getting Paid
  • Unit Five: Producing Your Posts
  • Unit Six: Staying Inspired and Motivated

Each of these units also have additional resources. For example, Ali has included valuable things like sample emails and invoices, blog post templates, sample headlines and images, etc… Each of these little additions are very useful in their own right (the sample posts and headlines are like gold).

About Ali Hale

Ali has been making a full-time living as a staff writer for some time now. She’s even written several articles for FreelanceFolder, including her latest hit Going Full-Time: Four Things You’ll Miss from the Day Job. I can’t imagine person better positioned to write this course.

What’s the price? Is it worth it?

The price of the entire Staff Blogging Course is only $19 — which in my mind is ridiculously low. I’ve seen similar courses, some of them much shorter and less valuable, selling for two, three, and even ten times as much (I’m looking at you, $197 products). Selling this course for only $19 seems crazy.

Is it worth it for you?

That’s a tough question, one that ultimately you will have to answer. Personally, I’d say that if you are considering making a living in this field, or even if you already do, then this course is easily worth it. Like I mentioned earlier, I think the headline and post samples are worth the $19 on their own — with all of the other content it seems like a steal.

How to buy It

If you’re interested in reading about the course in more detail, or if you’ve heard enough and just want to buy it already, you can head on over to Ali’s site for the official landing page.

Again, if you’d like to make money as a staff blogger, I highly recommend this course. All of the information you need is included, and I promise you won’t be disappointed (plus there’s a guarantee).

Thanks Laura, and thanks so much Mason for the review – I’m hugely flattered! Freelance Folder’s been one of my must-read blogs since day one … never imagined when I quit the day job (coming up on a year now…) that I’d write a course that got reviewed here.

(So for anyone who’s trying to make that freelance jump at the moment, go for it, you’ll never look back!)

    Thanks again!

    Ali –

This is great! This is exactly how I got my start a year ago. It’s a great way to start building up your freelancing profile & get immediate cash in the door.

Best of luck with the course!

Writing about, connecting and motivating people are what really turns me on and October offers a real fork in the road for me. I would love to take a chance on this course to help me determine if this tips my thinking toward staff blogging as part of my new slant. Am I cool enough? do I have anything interesting to say? is my vocabulary large enough to share concepts effectively? Am I creative enough? how does one determine?

Thanks for offering this, I think its a blessing!
