I like the way you have itemized your post but I beg to differ on some aspects.
1. you have suggested installing the default. What about memory? What if there is a watered down version that has functionality and is easy on memory? Is it wise to have a huge RAM guzzler when you can have less?
2.Fiddling with DPI is not what an average computer user will be comfortable doing. Second, are you suggesting that we use one DPI per application. I do not agree with the DPI bit at all. I think users should set their PC to the DPI they see/work best with and learn to work with that.
That is my mini-take on the matter.
Thanks

#8 I prefer to turn off AutoSave, then manually save the file every 5-10 minutes. That way, it doesn't get saved automatically when I'm in the middle of an experiment that's going horribly wrong.

Back up files... ahh!!! I've been really bad about this. I didn't start backing up my files until about 2 weeks ago when I got Time Machine to backup all of the files on my Mac.

Your post just gave me a much needed kick in the butt reminder to back up my blog. I'm backing it up right this moment and set it to back up weekly.

Thanks!
