September 2nd, 2010 at 8:35 amLooks great but lost all credibility with me when I read the testimonials at the bottom of the site from:
Whit.E Space (White Space)
Mylo Gobigger (My logo bigger)
Mark Etting (Marketing)
Is that supposed to be funny?

September 2nd, 2010 at 9:47 amLooks great!!! Good job.
Marie… using a little common sense and a sense of humor, I have come to the conclusion the Testimonials are just sample text ;)

September 2nd, 2010 at 9:59 amHey,
Yeah I got that. Just not sure why you wouldn’t get real testimonials.
it’s a great template though!

September 2nd, 2010 at 10:01 amThe theme looks great! Would love to see what it looks like with customized colors too!

September 2nd, 2010 at 10:40 amIt’s indeed a beautiful theme, but the most appealing thing is that this could become a complete business tool for a freelance. A client base, an estimates manager and an invoice creator, all inside our beloved WordPress… The only thing I would change is to lock with a password invoices and estimates, my clients wouldn’t appreciate to have informations about their business open to everyone… If you need an italian translation, just call :-)

September 2nd, 2010 at 12:07 pmQuestion, I would love to purchase this from you but is there by any chance you may have an alternative payment method? I’ve had a bad experience with paypal and no longer have an account with them. Let me know thanks!

September 2nd, 2010 at 2:22 pmHey guys, thanks for all of the comments!
@Marie — I can’t believe you didn’t like my jokes! Actually, that’s not true, I can believe it. I’m not very good with humor :-)
Anyway, we will be replacing them with real testimonials once we have them, we just wanted to focus more on perfecting the theme than marketing it so far, so we haven’t solicited any reviews yet.
@Chris — I’ll add some multi-color screenshots in the next few hours, hopefully that will help :-)
@MannyV — Unfortunately we don’t take anything but Paypal at this point. Hopefully we will start accepting credit card payment at some point in the future, though if you want the theme sooner rather than later it would have to be through the current system :-/
@Gowow — That’s exactly where we’re heading. Over the next months/years we’re going to turn this theme into something incredibly robust and useful for freelancers/small business owners. And we love wordpress!
Enjoy the theme!

September 2nd, 2010 at 2:35 pmHi,
looks great!
Just concerned about the lack of password to protect invoices, proposals & estimates for a client!
Will this be addressed?
Also, are clients restricted to seeing only their documents?
Will updates to the theme be free?
Cool!
:)

September 2nd, 2010 at 2:49 pmHey Mark!
Sorry we didn’t already address some of those questions, must have slipped by :-)
The theme DOES SUPPORT PASSWORDS for invoices and proposals. In addition, clients can only see their invoices by typing their exact name as you set it in the admin panel, and once inside their client area they will still need to enter a password to get any details about their invoices and proposals.
As far as updates, there will be FREE UPDATES for at least one year, and we’re considering extending that.
Let me know if you have other questions :-)

September 2nd, 2010 at 3:27 pmHi Mason,
thanks for the reply!
Out of interest, can you store other documents in the client area that are restricted by client and password protect those too?
I guess I”m thinking of a typical ‘client area’ where the client has to enter username & password to see any of their data.
This would be seriously cool!

September 2nd, 2010 at 3:58 pm@Mark — You can’t include files in the client area — YET. That does sound like an insanely awesome feature though, and I’m going see if we can include that in future versions.
It would definitely be nice to have some file space and other typical client area features available.
Thanks :-)

September 3rd, 2010 at 7:45 amMason, love the theme but I have a couple questions that haven’t been addressed anywhere.
1. What software license is the theme released under – GPL, CC, other?
2. Are there restrictions regarding use of the theme – number of sites it can be used on, retaining footer links, theme customization, etc.

September 3rd, 2010 at 8:32 amMason and Co.,
This is really great stuff. I’ve been playing around with other WP invoicing such as WP Bids which is very nice but it’s a one trick pony. Client Machine on the other hand can easily be one stop shopping for freelancers. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to have PayPal integration for the invoices. And just one more thing, the screen casts are really helpful, great job Natalie & Mason keep up the good work.

September 3rd, 2010 at 10:13 amThis looks very appealing to me, the demo site is great!
I would love to see some screenshots of this theme’s options from within the wordpress control panel.
I also share Kim’s questions about licensing and restrictions, (I’m hesitiant to buy anything without knowing the conditions first). Also, are there any restrictions on modifying the CSS and templates for this theme?
Thanks,
Chris
Ben
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:25 amI’d also like to see some screenshots of the admin area. Does this support other languages? I really need something where the client can choose their language would that be possible with this?
Thanks,
Ben

September 3rd, 2010 at 11:53 amI am very curious about the admin for this thing. It seems like that is really what would make or break this theme – exactly how easy it to actually create the invoices and whatnot.
I would love to see a video walk through of the process in creating an invoice and billing clients!
This looks like a great idea though!

September 3rd, 2010 at 12:07 pmso i purchased your theme, but how do i download or receive it?

September 3rd, 2010 at 1:55 pmI agree with Kim, just out of curiosity, what is this theme licensed under (GPL, proprietary, etc.) and what restrictions are on it? I’m on the fence about purchasing and this will be the deciding factor.

September 3rd, 2010 at 7:37 pmI made my purchase at 9am this morning. Still waiting for even a response, let alone what I purchased. I will file a claim with paypal if I don’t have any contact by 8pm

September 4th, 2010 at 1:38 am@Michael — Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I was at a wedding all day and didn’t have email access.
I looked into what happened and it appears you actually didn’t purchase the theme directly but paid us using our built in PayPal invoicing feature. Very sorry about the confusion, that is totally our fault for not labeling things more clearly.
Your theme should be in your email :-)
Thanks,
— Mason

September 4th, 2010 at 1:49 amHey Everyone,
Let me answer some of these pressing questions ;-)
LICENSING: The theme is licensed in multiple parts. The PHP templates and WordPress integration are licensed under the GPL, as required by WordPress. The CSS, JS, and Images are either copyright FreelanceFolder or their respective owners.
In terms of theme usage, we’re asking that you only use it for your own personal website at this price. We will probably be releasing a developer version for a slightly different cost, so if you’re interested in that let me know.
MODIFICATION: You are completely free to modify, adapt, and change the code however you like on your own installation. In fact, we’ll be releasing some tutorials in the near future on how to customize the theme for your business :-)
ADMIN AREA: I’m going to upload some new screenshots tomorrow morning if possible, but I can tell you that everything is generally intuitive and as it should be. We designed this theme with the idea that anyone should be able to use it, so we’ve got many options and all of them are well explained and fairly straightforward.
PASSWORD PROTECTION: Both invoices and proposals can be password protected as you see fit. All you have to do is enter a password in the post screen as you would for any post and they will be restricted to the people you give access to. Simple as that :-)
Thanks for all of the positive feedback, let me know how things go!

September 4th, 2010 at 5:44 pmI really do like this theme, I have it all installed in its new home now. I went to test it before I start customizing it, and it doesn’t work the way it is viewed in the demo.
1) its pulling javascript from your site, not the js folder included for the theme
2) its navigation menu is very glitched, im assuming its because of the js
3) I didn’t look very hard, but i havn’t seen a list of plugins that was used to create the feel and/or demo.
4) there is preset colors, i was under the impression that the colors were going to be customizable. There should be a custom option if you use a word like custom.
All and all, i do like this theme a lot, and I will be using it. But Mason, I think a lot more testing should of been done on your part, and a bit more planning. I don’t feel it was worth the 60 bucks that we have been paying for it, in fact, im kind’of bummed that i payed for this at all. The above fixes should of been viewed and found before release.
I am going to be working on this Mason, if you want help testing anything in the future, send me an email. I have a way with finding bugs and problematic glitches.

September 4th, 2010 at 8:22 pmHey Guys,
I’m going to be moving some of the comments into the support forums since they are better suited for some of these questions/issues.
Specifically, MarkF and Christopher, I’m putting both of your comments into threads in the “Usage & Customization” forum — just hop over there to see responses.
Thanks :-)

September 4th, 2010 at 8:33 pm@Michael,
We do our best to get everything right before the launch, but some things are bound to slip through — especially on a first release. Now that we have launched and there are a bunch of people using the theme, we will be working hard to fix any bugs that come to the surface.
If you really aren’t happy with your purchase I will gladly refund your money, that’s why we offer our 100% money-back policy — it’s entirely your call. If you do decide to keep it, I would of course be happy to help with any problems you’re having with the theme.
Regarding some of the things you mentioned, I would ask that you to look a bit more carefully at the support docs. You’ll find that there is a bit of configuration required for the menu, and the fact that the js files are still being pulled from our server (doh!) would actually only speed up your site. And with the plugins, you would find that there aren’t any plugins required. ALL of this functionality is built into the theme, and the demo site is running a stock installation with nothing different from the theme you received.
Please post any further support items in the forums — they are better suited for this :-)
Thanks again,
— Mason

April 23rd, 2012 at 8:29 amI want to be able to write entries and add pics. I do not mean something like myspace or facebook or anything like that. I mean an actual blog. .

November 12th, 2012 at 12:28 pmI bought the client machine back at the end of August, believing the bogus you wrote about “100% risk free return policy, money-back guarantee”, decided it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for for my business, and now I’ve been trying for over two months to just get a RESPONSE back from the emails and contact form submissions. Still nothing. Not a single response, even to let me know they’re looking into it or something. Customer service is ATROCIOUS, and no follow through with their guarantee.
