The Client Machine: Video Overview
Posted September 7, 2010 in News
With less than 24 hours left to get a 40% discount on The Client Machine, we’ve been getting a flood of questions about the invoicing and administration area features of the theme.
We thought that the best way to answer these questions would be to record a quick video overview of the theme and post that here on the blog. If you’re interested in The Client Machine but have been holding back due to a lack of information, hopefully this video will help.
For those of you who haven’t seen this yet, there is less than a day left to get the 40% launch discount on the theme — so you might want to check this out soon :-)
If you’ve got other questions, feel free to leave them for us in the comments!

September 7th, 2010 at 3:16 pmI’m just wondering how simple it is to modify the color scheme – are there different variations already available or would I have to code it myself?
Sorry, I’m new to the world of wordpress themes.
Thanks!

September 7th, 2010 at 5:20 pmThanks for the video Mason! Just purchased my copy of The Client Machine!
Joe, try heading to to 6:00 mark on the video. I believe there are 5 different colour theme options. I haven’t installed the theme myself yet so I am not sure what they are!

September 7th, 2010 at 5:44 pmHello, great vid, just one question: is it possible to use £’s on the invoices/proposals for The Client Machine theme? I’m extremely close to buying but I’m based in London UK so really would like to use £s instead of dollars.
Many thanks

September 7th, 2010 at 11:45 pmAwesome video and product.
But I have the same question as Shane,
I will need to use different currencies for different clients. So I will need to be able to either select a currency per invoice or -ideally- per client. Is that possible?
Bonus points (or an extra sale) for an answer within 13 hours.

September 8th, 2010 at 2:43 amAlso, i’d like to know if there’s any facility to add twitter feeds to the theme so that I can keep my visitors or potential clients up to date with my latest news?

September 8th, 2010 at 12:42 pmHey guys! Really glad you enjoyed the video, I think I’m going to keep doing more of these as they seem to be helpful :-)
Let me answer some questions:
1. There are 5 included color schemes that are very easy to change in the admin panel (just a little drop-down). The schemes are: Default Teal, Pretty Blue, Lime Green, Cherry Red, and Grayscale. Creating your own custom color scheme would require some CSS knowledge.
2. We don’t support anything but USD ($) at this point, but it is on our roadmap to support multiple currencies very soon. We might be including a simple text field where you could enter your currency symbol as early as the next release (in about two weeks).
3. We also do not have a twitter feed widget yet, though I think that’s a great idea and can try to work something like that into our future theme updates. If a lot of people want it we can do it pretty soon :-)
Thanks again!

September 8th, 2010 at 12:47 pmGreat thanks for your reply Mason, so if I purchase a copy today will i receive the updates for free?
Mason Hipp
September 8th, 2010 at 12:56 pmShane,
That’s correct :-) We’re offering free updates for at least one year from the date of purchase. Not only will you get the currency updates, you should have a lot of other cool features at that point too.
Also, if you do decide to purchase, feel free to post something in the forums and I can give you instructions on how to make the currency change directly to the theme files. If you’re somewhat code-savvy and willing to make a few changes to the theme, you could have all of this changed over well before the next update.
Thanks again,
— Mason

September 14th, 2010 at 12:57 pmNow that I’ve had a chance to set my copy of Client Machine up, I have nothing short of saying that its working awesomely and I’m loving my purchase. I’ve streamlined it down A LOT and am basically only using the Client Area/Proposal/Invoicing pages within my current website.
Just wanted to say thanks again and looking forward to future expansion/updates!
I also wanted to request a link to the forum discussion w/ @shanedesignUK as I am interested in changing American currency/US paypal funds to Canadian ;)
