Hi Hope, I think this is a very good idea, and I’m sure it would work. Of course you could use sites like Skilllance.com, eLance.com and others to find gigs, but honestly I get most of my clients through my blogs (blogging is great!).

You could certainly use WordPress to build the site, it’s just a matter of getting people interested and actually contact you, It really depends if you want to have a “post and find jobs” website or simply get new clients (which you can do just by running one or many blogs).

Well, that gives me a couple of ideas for a post, will e-mail you ;)

Hi,

I don’t know if this is the most challenging part of my freelancing, but I’m thinking about putting together my own little freelance website.

I want potential clients to be able to search for writers, find me and be able to submit a form detailing their needs from the site. However, I’m just starting out and am not really certain if a website offering my writing services would bring in a lot of new (hopefully better paying) customers.

What do you think? Is there another better option for finding clients? Or what’s the best way to promote and organize my site?
